Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Easy Auth ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Easy Auth is a TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) authenticator service that allows you to:

  • Store and manage TOTP secrets with zero-knowledge encryption
  • Generate two-factor authentication codes
  • Sync encrypted data across devices

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must sign in using a supported OAuth provider (Google or GitHub). You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your OAuth account
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Remembering your encryption password (we cannot recover it)

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Keep your encryption password secure and private
  • Maintain backup copies of your TOTP secrets
  • Not attempt to compromise the security of the Service
  • Not use the Service to store illegal or harmful content

5. Zero-Knowledge Encryption

The Service uses zero-knowledge encryption. This means:

  • Your encryption password is never transmitted to our servers
  • We cannot decrypt your TOTP secrets
  • We cannot recover your data if you forget your encryption password
  • You are solely responsible for remembering your encryption password

Warning: If you lose your encryption password, your encrypted data will be permanently inaccessible. We strongly recommend maintaining offline backups of your TOTP secrets.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues
  • Circumstances beyond our control

We recommend keeping the Chrome extension installed for offline TOTP code generation.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Easy Auth and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easy Auth shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data due to forgotten encryption passwords
  • Unauthorized access to your OAuth provider account
  • Service interruptions or technical issues
  • Any damages resulting from your use of the Service

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Security or error-free operation

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Is fraudulent or illegal

You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your encrypted data will be deleted from our servers.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
